Shwayder Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Senior captain Elianna Shwayder earned CoSIDA Academic All-District Team honors. 

GREENWOOD, Ind.  –
Senior Elianna Shwayder of women's cross country/track and field was named to the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District team, as announced by the organization this afternoon (May 29). 

To be nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials, have reached their sophomore year and have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA.

Shwayder, a Human Evolutionary Biology concentrator from Saline, Mich., served as team captain of the women's cross country team this past fall. She placed 58th overall at NCAA Northeast Regional in 22:58.9, and was Harvard's second fastest finisher in the event. She also recorded the best finish of her collegiate career at H-Y-P Meet, placing fifth overall (14:07.4) to lead the Crimson. Shwayder was also a track and field standout throughout her four years at Harvard.  

First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
