MADISON, Wisc. – Freshman Abbe Goldstein paced Harvard women's cross country at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational this afternoon, held at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course. As a team, the Crimson placed 33rd overall competing in one of the top regular season Division I cross-country meets.
For the second straight race this season, Goldstein had Harvard's top individual performance, as the Ambler, Pa. native placed 107th overall, finishing in 21:22.3. Fellow freshman Anna Juul was second among Harvard runners, finishing in 188th (22:14.2).
Rounding out Harvard's top five were sophomore Gillian Meeks (22:15.3), who finished right behind Juul, senior Fiona Davis (22:26.6) and senior captain Elianna Shwayder (22:49.2).
Several members of both the men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the Princeton Invite tomorrow (Oct. 14). The men's 8k race will begin at 9:30 a.m., while the women's 6k race starts at 10:30 a.m.
