Price Leads Men's Cross Country at Pre-National Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior Brandon Price placed 41st overall to lead the Harvard men's cross-country team at the Pre-National Invitational hosted by Indiana State University at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Competing against many of the top Division I teams in the nation with 268 runners in the Men's 8K Blue race, Price finished in 24:44.8 on the 8K course that will also serve as the site of the NCAA National Championships on Nov. 19. Sophomore Kieran Tuntivate finished in 138th, crossing the finish line in 25:31.1 with freshman Will Battershill not far behind in 146th (25:36.8). Rounding out the scorers for Harvard were junior Gabe Montague, who placed 235th with a 26:35.3 finish, and freshman Kaeo Kruse, who was 259th with a time of 27:22.9. 

Harvard finished 35th overall with a total score of 819, with Oregon winning the event behind Edward Cheserek's first place finish. 

The Crimson also sent six runners to the Princeton Invitational at West Windsor Fields, host of this year's Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. Harvard finished 18th overall in the event, with sophomore Collin Price led the way for the Crimson, finishing 67th overall in 25:17.4, his best 8K time at Harvard. Sophomore Nick Linder finished in 82nd with a time of 25:31.0, which was also his fastest collegiate 8K finish. Also scoring for Harvard were sophomore Robert Hope (107th, 15:59.4), freshman Zach Manickas-Hill (110th, 26:07.6) and freshman Charlie Davis (26:41.7).

Harvard is off next weekend before returning to action on Oct. 29 at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships hosted by Princeton.
