Ribordy Claims CWPA Rookie of the Week Honors

Freshman Mathilde Ribordy totaled six goals, three assists and three steals as Harvard went 2-0 last week (Paul Rutherford).

– The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced that Harvard women's water polo freshman Mathilde Ribordy has been awarded Rookie of the Week honors for her performances from March 20-26.

Ribordy had a dominant weekend for Harvard, totaling six goals and three assists as the Crimson took down Mercyhurst and Gannon in decisive fashion. She recorded two goals and an assist in a 15-4 win over Mercyhurst, before erupting for a career-high four goals and two helpers against Gannon as the Crimson coasted to the 17-6 victory. Ribordy has scored multiple goals five times in her rookie campaign.  

The freshman also notched three steals over the weekend doubleheader, marking the 10th-straight game that she has had at least one swipe. Ribordy leads Harvard with 28 steals this season.

Ribordy and the Crimson return to the pool Saturday, April 8 for a pair of contests against CWPA opponents at Hartwick. Harvard will face Bucknell at 10 a.m., before taking on George Washington at 3 p.m.
