BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Freshman Yoshi Andersen has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Southern Division Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Thursday.
The Laguna Beach, Calif., native had one of her best weekends of the year, totaling eight goals, five assists and 10 steals to help Harvard finish third at the CWPA Southern Division tournament.
Andersen delivered five goals, three assists and four steals in the opener against Mercyhurst. In game two against Brown, she tallied another four thefts, one goal and one assist. Andersen ended the weekend with two goals, one assist and two steals versus George Washington in the third-plce game.
The freshman has totaled 55 goals, 39 assists and 48 steals in her inaugural collegiate campaign.
It is the second weekly CWPA award for Andersen, who was also honored on Feb. 4. Harvard has now own a total of nine awards with three players of the week, three rookies of the week and three defensive player of the week honors this season.
Harvard returns to action on April 26 at noon against Notre Dame (Ohio) in the CWPA Eastern Championships.
