CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Sophomore Devan Kennifer of the Harvard women's water polo team has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Northern Division Player of the Week. Kennifer lead Harvard to a seventh-place finish at the Elite Eight tournament. Kennifer tallied a hat trick in the opening match against Maryland. The Monterey Bay, Calif., native tallied a goal in the consolation semifinal contest against Princeton. Kennifer closed out the weekend with a six-goal performance. She buried four markers in regulation and registered both of the Crimson's overtime goals in Harvard's overtime victory over Bucknell. The sophomore finished the weekend with 10 goals and has 42 to her credit this season.
This marks just the second time this season that a Crimson women's water polo player has garnered a weekly award. Freshman Elise Molnar was the Northern Division Rookie of the Week, for the week ending Feb. 8.
