CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's volleyball team is set to kick off its 2019 campaign this weekend, Sept. 6-7, hosting the Harvard Invitational at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson will welcome Colgate, Rhode Island and Sacred Heart for a round-robin slate this Friday through Saturday. Harvard's first serve of the season is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday against Sacred Heart. The Crimson will then face a doubleheader on Saturday, taking on Colgate at 1 p.m. and Rhode Island at 7 p.m. All matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.

What to Know
- Harvard enters the season returning 11 letterwinners, including top scorers Maclaine Fields, Mindie Mabry and Grace Roberts Burbank.
- The Crimson added a talented group of four newcomers to the roster, including outside hitters Grace Allen and Katie Vorhies, middle blocker Ava Rauser and setter Ashley Wang.
- Senior Maclaine Fields and junior Evelyn Gray will serve as captains for the 2019 season.

Head coach Jennifer Weiss enters her 27th season at the helm of the women's volleyball program, where she has accumulated a 151-158 Ivy record, has led Harvard to three Ivy League titles and has guided 81 All-Ivy selections during her tenure.
Harvard will travel to U.C. Santa Barbara for the UCSB Invitational next weekend, Sept. 13-14. The Crimson will face La Salle on Friday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. EST, before taking on San Diego at 1 p.m. EST and host U.C. Santa Barbara at 10 p.m. EST on Saturday, Sept. 14.
