  • Mabry Earns All-Ivy Honorable Mention Honors
    November 21, 2019
    PRINCETON, N.J. – Earning her first All-Ivy League distinction of her career, Mindie Mabry of the Harvard women’s volleyball team was named to the All-Ivy League Honorable Mention Team, as announced by the league this afternoon. The junior outside hitter consistently guided the Crimson attack this season, leading the team in kills with 222 and averaging 2.67 per set. Dominant from the service line, Mabry recorded 15 aces this year to rank fourth on the team. Mabry emerged as an offensive and defensive staple, finishing second on the team in digs per set with 2.53.
  • Women’s Volleyball Overcome by Columbia on Senior Day

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (5-18, 3-11 Ivy) fell to Columbia (12-12, 3-9 Ivy) in five sets in its last match of the season. Columbia outlasted Harvard with set scores coming to 27-25, 24-26, 16-25, 25-20, 16-14.

  • Women’s Volleyball Drops Hard-Fought Match Against Cornell

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (5-17, 3-10 Ivy League) dropped its match against Cornell (17-5, 10-3 Ivy League) in three sets tonight, Nov. 11, at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson fell by set scores of 25-23, 25-10 and 25-15.
  • Women’s Volleyball Set to Close Out Regular Season at Home

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's volleyball team (5-16, 3-9 Ivy League) is set to close out the regular season with a pair of matchups at the Malkin Athletic Center this weekend, Nov. 15-16. The Crimson will take on Cornell on Friday at 7 p.m., before honoring the Class of 2020 prior to Saturday’s tilt against Columbia at 5 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+.

    PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (5-16, 3-9 Ivy League) dropped a 3-0 decision to Princeton (15-6, 11-1 Ivy League) tonight, Nov. 9, at Dillon Gymnasium. The Crimson fell by set scores of 22-25, 11-25 and 22-25.
  • Women’s Volleyball Falls to Penn, 3-1

    PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (5-15, 3-8 Ivy League) suffered a 3-1 setback at Penn (10-10, 3-8 Ivy League), tonight, Nov. 8, at the Palestra. The Crimson fell by set scores of 23-25, 21-25, 25-15 and 20-25. Junior Mindie Mabry led the Crimson attack, recording double-digit kills for the fourth consecutive match and ninth time this season with 11. Senior co-captain Maclaine Fields joined Mabry at the top of the lineup, also registering 11 kills and team-best .429 hitting percentage with just two errors on the night. Sophomore Bella Almanza connected Harvard on 44 total kills, dishing out 34 assists. The Crimson continues to dominate at the service line, as sophomore Grace Varsames paced the team with three, while Grace Roberts Burbank and Almanza contributed two apiece of Harvard’s 11 total.
  • Women’s Volleyball Heads to Penn and Princeton For Final Road Contests

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (5-14, 3-7 Ivy League) will travel to Penn and Princeton this weekend, Nov. 8-9, for its final two road contests of the season. The Crimson will take on the Quakers on Friday, Nov. 8, before facing the Tigers on Saturday, Nov. 9. Matches are slated to begin at 7 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In front of a packed Malkin Athletic Center on alumnae weekend, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (5-14, 3-7 Ivy League) upset league-leading Yale (12-7, 8-2), 3-1 tonight, Nov. 2, at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson bested the Bulldogs by set scores of 30-28, 25-20, 22-25 and 25-20.
  • Women’s Volleyball Battles Brown to Five Sets, Falls 3-2

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Despite rallying back from a 2-0 deficit, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (4-14, 2-7 Ivy League) fell in a battle to Brown, 3-2, tonight, Nov. 1, at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson dropped the match by set scores of 21-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-23 and 14-16.
  • Women’s Volleyball Continues Conference Action, Hosting Brown and Yale

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (4-13, 2-6 Ivy League) will continue conference action this weekend, returning home to host Brown and Yale, Nov. 1-2. First serve against the Brown Bears is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday, while the Crimson will take on the Bulldogs on Saturday at 5 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+. Harvard will celebrate its 2004, 2014 and 2015 Ivy League Championship teams during the Crimson’s match against Yale in honor of alumnae weekend.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Returning to the Malkin Athletic Center for its only home weekend of play for the month of October, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (4-12, 2-5 Ivy League) picked up a 3-1 win over Penn tonight, Oct. 19, at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson picked up the win over the Quakers by set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-18.
  • Women’s Volleyball Tripped Up by Princeton

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Despite a third set rally that featured extra points, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (3-12, 1-5 Ivy League) was tripped up by Princeton, 3-0, tonight, Oct. 18 at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson fell to the Tigers by set scores of 15-25, 18-25 and 27-29.
  • Women’s Volleyball Returns Home to Host Princeton, Penn

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following a four-match road stretch, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (3-11, 1-4 Ivy League) will return home to take on Princeton and Penn this weekend, Oct. 18-19 at the Malkin Athletic Center. After making a comeback in the third set to stay alive and force a decisive fourth set, the Crimson fell to the Big Red by set scores of 17-25, 23-25, 25-21 and 20-25.

  • Allen Tabbed Ivy League Rookie of the Week

    PRINCETON, N.J. – Earning her first league honor of her career, first-year Grace Allen of the Harvard women’s volleyball team was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today, Oct. 7. In Harvard’s 3-0 sweep over Brown this past weekend, Allen led the Crimson attack with 13 kills and zero errors to register a team-best .722 hitting percentage. The first-year also added three blocks to her dominant performance against the Brown Bears. Prior to Saturday’s contest, Allen recorded six kills and zero errors to hit at a .600 clip against Yale.
  • Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Brown, 3-0

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Closing out its first Ivy League road trip of the season, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (3-9, 1-2 Ivy League) swept Brown (9-4, 1-2 Ivy League), 3-0, to pick up its first conference win of the year. The Crimson moved to 1-2 in league action after defeating the Brown Bears by set scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-23.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Despite rallying in the fourth set to force a decisive fifth that featured extra points, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (2-5, 0-0 Ivy) fell, 3-2, in a five-set thriller to Boston College tonight, Sept. 18 at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson dropped to 2-5 on the season by set scores of 25-15, 12-25, 17-25, 25-23 and 18-20.
  • Women’s Volleyball Prepares for New England Challenge, Syracuse

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Returning to Cambridge for a pair of midweek matchups, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (2-4, 0-0 Ivy) will prepare for the New England Challenge, before facing Syracuse to cap off the three-match week. The Crimson will take on Boston College at the Malkin Athletic Center on Wednesday, Sept. 18 for a 7 p.m. tilt and travel to Northeastern on Thursday, Sept. 19 to compete for its third-consecutive New England Challenge crown. Harvard will then close out the week hosting Syracuse at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21. 
  • Women's Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision at UC Santa Barbara

    SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Wrapping up the Thunderdome Classic last night, the Harvard women’s volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback to tournament host UC Santa Barbara. The Crimson fell to 2-4 on the season by set scores of 15-25, 25-21, 10-25 and 17-25.
