    PHILADELPHIA, PA. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (11-12, 6-8 Ivy) closed out its 2018 season with a 3-1 victory over Penn (6-19, 3-11 Ivy) tonight, Nov. 10 at the Palestra. The Crimson secured its season series sweep over the Quakers by set scores of 23-35, 25-23, 25-14 and 25-21.

    PRINCETON, N.J. – Despite a closely contested second set and a valiant defensive effort, the Harvard women’s volleyball team (10-12, 5-8 Ivy) was edged by Princeton, 3-0, tonight at Dillon Gymnasium. The Crimson fell to the Tigers by set scores of 17-25, 23-25 and 13-25.

The Crimson’s first loss in its last four matches came by set scores of 24-26, 23-25 and 23-25.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Extending its win streak to three matches, the Harvard women’s volleyball team bested Brown, 3-2, in a comeback victory tonight, Oct. 12, at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Crimson secured its third Ivy win of the season by set scores of 23-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-14 and 15-9. With its win tonight, Harvard improves to 3-3 in conference play with an 8-7 overall mark, while Brown dips to 1-5 in Ivy play, 8-8 overall.

    This summer I worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. It was great because it meant I got to live at home with my family, a fully stocked refrigerator, and a new puppy. After being abroad for the past two summers I knew I wanted to be at home in Chicago for my last summer ever and once I saw on Crimson Careers that the Federal Reserve Banks all had internships and there was one located at home in Chicago I was pumped. Keep in mind I am concentrating in applied math with a focus in economics so to a nerd like me anything to do with the Fed is exciting.

Due to Harvard’s Thursday start of the New England Challenge, the Crimson can now claim the championship title for the second consecutive year having defeated all three participating teams. Harvard’s victory came by set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 18-25 and 25-16.

The Crimson defeated the Eagles by set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-11. Harvard moved to 3-4 overall, while Boston College dropped to 9-1 on the first day of the New England Challenge.

    Christina Cornelius was selected as a member of the All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the tournament. (Gil Talbot).  FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Harvard women’s volleyball team (2-4) wrapped up the Fairfield Invitational today, Sept. 8, splitting its two final contests. First falling to Michigan State (8-1) in three sets earlier this morning, the Crimson bounced back with a 3-1 victory over tournament host Fairfield (1-7) this afternoon. Following the match, senior co-captain Christina Cornelius was selected as a member of the All-Tournament team after accumulating 19 kills and five blocks through three matches.
