Women's Volleyball Falls to Yale, 3-0

Harvard wrapped up its road schedule against the Bulldogs (Gil Talbot).

NEW HAVEN, Conn. –
The Harvard women's volleyball team wrapped up its regular season road schedule Saturday as it dropped a 3-0 decision to Yale at Lee Amphitheater. Harvard moves to 8-16 overall and 5-7 in conference action while the Bulldogs remain among the league leaders with a conference mark of 10-2 and overall record of 16-7.

Harvard had trouble getting started against the Bulldogs as the hosts used a 6-0 run early to gain a comfortable lead. Yale grabbed the final three points of the first and hit .429 for the stanza to take the set 25-14 and a 1-0 lead. The Crimson stayed with the Bulldogs through the early portion of second set, but at 5-5 Yale put together an 8-0 to power them to a second 25-14 set win.

The Crimson held a handful of early leads in the third set and stood tied with the hosts at 10-10. The Bulldogs stood firm down the stretch, grabbing eight of the next nine points en route to a 25-18 set win and a 3-0 victory in the match.

Anne Carroll Ingersoll led the Crimson with eight kills on the night while Taylor Docter was close behind with seven. Beth Kinsella had 21 assists in the game while Miyoko Pettit chipped in nine digs in the game. Erica Reetz led all hitters with 13 kills for Yale and Bridget Hearst put down 11 in the game. Haley Wessels picked up four blocks in the win.

Harvard returns home to wrap up its regular season schedule next weekend as it takes on Penn Friday and Princeton Saturday.
