Women’s Tennis Caps Off Harvard Invitational with Five Flight Titles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass –
Harvard women's tennis continued to shine on the final day of the Harvard Invitational, finishing the weekend with five flight victories. The Crimson dominated from wire to wire, winning 15-of-20 singles matches and 9-of-13 doubles matches.

Senior captain Natasha Gonzalez defeated Erica Di Battista of Boston University in straight sets to win the flight A bracket. Gonzalez ends the weekend with a first-place finish in flight A singles and doubles.

The flight B finals was a Crimson-vs.-Crimson matchup, featuring first-year Mihaela Marculescu and sophomore Rachel Lim. Marculescu edged her teammate, 6-3, 6-2, to win the flight. Marculescu also finished the weekend with multiple titles, finishing at the top in flight B singles and doubles.

First-year Sophia Ho didn't waste any time in her finals match against BU's Steph Nguyen, winning, 6-3, 6-1, to earn the flight C title. Ho ends the fall with a 7-2 record in singles action.

With the fall season wrapping up, the Crimson will now have two months to rest and prepare for its spring slate of matches.
