Women’s Tennis Sweeps Bulldog Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team swept the weekend at the Bulldog Invitational in New Haven, Connecticut. The team earned wins in doubles and singles play against Cornell, Boston College and Dartmouth.

Day 1: Harvard 7, Cornell 1
The Crimson first faced off against Cornell, where it won all five singles matches, as well as two doubles matches. Junior Natasha Gonzalez and first-year Rachel Lim earned a pair of singles victories after losing their first sets, storming back and winning in third set tiebreakers.   

Day 2: Harvard 8, Boston College 2
Sophomore Anna Li and first-year Rachel Eason earned three of the Crimson's eight wins on Saturday, including a win as doubles partners. The other first-years, Rachel Lim and Chelsea Williams also earned a victory as a doubles duo, along with earning wins in their respective, singles matches. 

Day 3: Harvard 6, Dartmouth 3
Li continued her strong play into day three, earning a hard-fought, three-set victory against Dartmouth. She also picked up another win in doubles with playing partner, sophomore Neha Gupta.  

Harvard Highlights:

  • Junior Lexi Milunovich swept the weekend with three singles wins for the Crimson. 
  • Sophomore Neha Gupta earned two victories on Sunday, earning her a perfect 4-0 record on the weekend. 
  • Sophomore Anna Li also had a strong showing this weekend, earning a 5-1 record, the best on the team.
  • First-year Chelsea Williams went undefeated on the weekend, winning all five of her matches.

Next Up:
Select individuals will participate in the All-American Qualifier beginning on Oct. 2. The full squad is set to return to team action on Oct. 19 at the Harvard Fall Scramble.
