CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a 14-win campaign last spring, the Harvard women's tennis team released its 2018 fall schedule, including two home tournaments.
Before the 2018 season begins, all returning players will travel to Spain as a team.
Then the 2018 season officialy kicks off with two players attending the ITA Hall of Fame tournament in Newport, RI, while the rest of the team will be at the Columbia Invitational. Both tournaments are set to start on Sept. 14 and end on Sept. 16.
The team will reconvene at the Oracle ITA Masters in from Sept. 20-23 in Malibu, CA. The following weekend, the squad will participate in the Bulldog Invite from Sept. 28-30.
Next, athletes will participate in the All-American Qualifying tournament held from Oct. 2-3. Players who advance to the main draw will play from Oct. 4-7. Following the All-American Qualifier, the ITA Regionals will be held at Yale on Oct. 11-16.
Harvard rounds out the fall season with two home tournaments. The Harvard Scramble on Oct. 19-21 and the Harvard Invitational on Nov. 2-4.
All home matches played indoors will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The team finished 14-9 last season, including a strong finish, winning eight of their last nine games. Both All-Ivy League first team members Erica Oosterhout and Jenna Friedel return, along with a strong class off four freshmen joining the mix.
