Harvard vs. Rhode Island
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis returns to the Murr Center Tennis Courts on Saturday with dual matches against Boston University (10 a.m.) and Rhode Island (2 p.m.). Both matches will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network.
Last Time Out
Climbing back to .500 on the season, the Harvard women's tennis team (2-2) defeated St. John's (0-1), 6-1, to open its home spring schedule last Friday night. Junior Erica Oosterhout won her fifth straight singles match with a win over St. John's Jessica Livianu Oosterhout and Natasha Gonzalez's victory in second doubles was the pair's seventh win as partners. Freshman Neha Gupta improved to 14-1 with a two-set victory in fifth singles.
Harvard is 84-37 in singles and 37-26 in doubles in 2017-2018. Freshman Neha Gupta leads the Crimson with a 14-1 singles mark, while sophomore Irene Lu has posted an 11-8 record. Doubles tandem, senior Annika Ringblom and freshman Anna Li have posted a 9-2 mark, while junior Erica Oosterhout and sophomore Natasha Gonzalez are 7-3 in doubles.
BU sits at 1-3 on the season, falling to Yale last Sunday, 5-2, in its most recent dual match. Senior Iryna Kostirko and freshman Emily Kim helped BU avoid the sweep in doubles by posting a 6-4 win to improve to 2-2 as a duo this winter at line 2. Freshman Lily Burchell also moved to 2-2 in the dual season by dropping just four games at No. 4 singles against Caroline Amos.
Scouting Rhode Island
Rhode Island also sits at 1-3 on the season, falling 7-0 to Columbia last weekend in its most recent action. The Rams have dealt with injuries, forcing them to default in doubles and singles action last weekend. Harvard won the last meeting between the two teams last Feb. 5 (W, 4-0).
In the Rankings
Lexi Milunovich climbed to No. 111 in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings (Jan. 4) last year. Milunovich finished the season with a 7-6 singles record, including a perfect 5-0 tour mark.
ITA All-Academic Team
Six members of the 2016-2017 Harvard women's tennis team was recognized by the International Tennis Association (ITA). Natasha Gonzalez, June Lee, Irene Lu, Lexi Milunovich, Annika Ringblom and Sabrina earned All-Academic Team honors with a 3.5 GPA or better.

The Harvard women's tennis class of 2021 includes Neha Gupta (Elk Grove, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks), Jenna Moustafa (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake), Lia Kiam (New York, N.Y./Nightingale-Bamford) and Anna Li (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny).
Leading the Way
Traci Green, the Sheila Kelly Palandjian Head Coach for Harvard women's tennis, enters her 11th season as the second winningest coach in Crimson women's tennis history with a 109-94 record. Last season she guided Harvard to a 17-8 overall record, including a 5-2 Ivy League record as well as picked up her 100th and 101st career victories in duals against Stony Brook and Providence.

Harvard will compete at the ECAC Championships next weekend, beginning on Friday (Feb. 9) and running to Sunday, at Princeton.
