Amanda Lin continued her torrid start to her spring season Wednesday (OAC).
TAMPA, Fla. – The Harvard women's tennis team jumped out to an early lead, but South Florida rallied past the Crimson, 4-3, to end the squad's four-match win streak.
The Crimson took the doubles point to go up early on the Bulls; however, USF won four of the six singles matches to just edge out Harvard and snap the unbeaten span.
In doubles play, Amanda Lin and Sylvia Li knocked off Fanny Fracassi and Paula Montoya, 8-1, at No. 3, and the top tandem of Hideko Tachibana and Kristin Norton continued its undefeated run this spring by beating Kayla Rizzolo and Danielle Mills, 8-4, to put the Crimson out in front.
However, the tides turned once the play switched to singles, as the Bulls dominated the top half of the lineup, winning the top four matches.
Amanda Lin topped Alessandra Bonte, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4, at No. 6, and Hai-Li Kong was leading Kayla Rizzolo, 6-3, 4-6, 2-0, when Rizzolo retired to give Harvard its third point of the afternoon.
The Crimson will look to rebound Saturday when it entertains Fairleigh Dickinson inside the Murr Center at 1 p.m.
