No. 1 Women’s Squash Remains Unbeaten With 9-0 Win Over No. 10 Virginia

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – There was no beginner's luck at the Murr Center Squash Courts on Friday night, as Harvard (8-0, 4-0 Ivy) defeated No. 10 Virginia in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Crimson ran away with the victory after outscoring the Cavaliers, 27-1. The win was a record 74th in a row for Harvard. The 9-0 win was Harvard's second in a row and third total on the 2019-20 season.

The largest wins of the night went to senior captain Amelia Henley and sophomore Hana Moataz, who both outscored their opponents, 33-9. The wins took place at the second and third pairings, respectively.

Senior Captain Gina Kennedy and junior Hannah Craig were not far off, as they both outscored their opponents 33-11 at the first and seventh pairings, respectively.

First-years Charlotte Orcutt and Evie Coxon dazzled at the eighth and ninth spots, both picking up 3-0 wins.

Additional wins from Amina Yousry, Eleonore Evans and Maddie Chai pushed Harvard's total to nine.

Next Up
The Crimson is back on the courts tomorrow for two matches with NESCAC opponents. First, Harvard will take on No. 12 Williams at 3 p.m., followed by a clash with No. 15 Middlebury at 5 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN3.
