  • Gina Kennedy Named Ivy League Player of the Year; Way Earns Coach-of-the-Year Honors

    PRINCETON, N.J. – Before Harvard women’s squash travels to the CSA National Tournament this weekend, five members of the team will be making room in their trophy cases. The Ivy League has named Gina Kennedy, the conference’s player of the year, and Mike Way, the Gregory Lee '87 and Russell Ball '88 Endowed Coach for Harvard University, James Herscot '58 Coach of Excellence, earned coach of the year honors. The League also named Kennedy, Amelia Henley, Hana Moataz and Eleonore Evans to the All-Ivy First Team.

The nation's top-ranked team clinched a share of the crown on Sunday, with a 9-0 victory over the No. 4 Yale Bulldogs. The Crimson's (13-0, 6-0 Ivy) sixth shutout win of the season powered it to its 11th-straight victory over its Ivy League foe.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women’s squash (12-0, 5-0 Ivy) is now one win closer to an Ivy League title, after it defeated the No. 13 Brown Bears (5-7, 0-6 Ivy), 8-1. The Friday night win was the 78th win in a row, and Harvard’s 56th consecutive win at the Murr Center Squash Courts. The Crimson outscored the Bears 26-4 on its way to its twelfth win of the season.

The nation’s top-ranked team earned a pair of 9-0 victories an improved their overall individual record to 82-8 on the season. Harvard won its 33rd and 10th consecutive match against Williams and Middlebury, respectively.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – There was no beginners luck at the Murr Center Squash Courts on Friday night, as Harvard (8-0, 4-0 Ivy) defeated No. 10 in the first ever meeting between the two programs. The Crimson ran away with the victory after outscoring the Cavaliers 27-1. The win was a record 74th in a row for Harvard. The 9-0 win was Harvard’s second in a row and third total on the 2019-20 season.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women’s squash (7-0, 4-0 Ivy) kept its perfect record in tact with a 9-0 win over the sixth-ranked Drexel Dragons. The Crimson outscored the Dragons, 27-1, over the course of the match, clinching the win in just over an hour. This is the second 9-0 win of the season for the nation’s top-ranked squad.

In her first match of the season, senior captain Amelia Henley swept her way to victory in the first pairing, outscoring her opponent 33-10 along the way.
