CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The top-ranked Harvard women's squash team swept Dartmouth, 9-0, in its season opener on Wednesday night. The Crimson won all but one match by a 3-0 decision.
Senior No. 1 Sabrina Sobhy led the charge for Harvard with a commanding 11-1, 11-3, 11-1 win against Dartmouth's Anne Blasberg. Junior Gina Kennedy served as the team's No. 2, earning a strong 11-4, 11-4, 11-1 victory over Emma Mactaggart. Junior Amelia Henley rounded out the top-three with a convincing 11-3, 11-2, 11-3 triumph against Sandra Reiss. Senior Kayley Leonard, junior Eleonore Evans and senior Sophie Mehta also earned blowout 3-0 victories.
Harvard Highlights:
- The Crimson is now 49-3 all-time against the Big Green.
- Harvard extends its win streak to 54 games, dating back to the 2014-15 season (Jan. 12).
- First-year Grace Steelman earned her first collegiate victory, battling Emma Roberts in five games.
- Harvard tallied nine games that ended by a score of 11-1.
