Gina Kennedy to Play for Second Straight National Championship

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Harvard women's squash's Gina Kennedy is set to play for her second consecutive national championship title tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 p.m. Kennedy defeated teammate Amelia Henley to take the spot in the final, and will face No. 1 seeded Reeham Sedky from Penn. 

Harvard's Sabrina Sobhy took on Sedky in the semifinal round, dropping the match in straight sets 3-11, 9-11, 5-11. Sedky has won each of her matches by 3-0 decisions. 

In the Harvard vs. Harvard battle in the other semifinal, reigning Ramsay Cup champion Gina Kennedy defeated teammate Amelia Henley in a five-game battle for a spot in the national championship. After Kennedy took the first and second games, Henley fought back to force the fifth. Kennedy took the games by scores of 11-5, 11-7, 8-11, 4-11 and 11-5. 

The Holleran Cup: B North Division will feature an all Harvard final, with Eleonore Evans and Sue Ann Yong both defeating their semifinal opponents by 3-0 decisions.
