No. 1 Harvard vs. No. 10 Dartmouth
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team opens the 2017-18 season this Wednesday at No. 10 Dartmouth. The reigning Howe Cup champion has dominated the Dartmouth series, winning the last 12 matchups, and is 47-3 all-time against the Big Green.
The Crimson went undefeated in the 2016-17 season, earning 15 wins total. Ten of the team's 15 games were 9-0 victories, including the season opener against Dartmouth, a 9-0 victory for the Crimson at the Murr Center Squash Courts.
Harvard welcomes back 10 players from last year's team, including 2016-17 Ramsay Cup Winner, Gina Kennedy. The Crimson also returns four CSA All-American first and second team selections: Kayley Leonard, Gina Kennedy, Alyssa Mehta and Amelia Henley.
No. 10 Dartmouth has won both of its matchups so far this season, taking down No. 12 George Washington and No. 18 Franklin & Marshall. The Big Green defeated the Diplomats, 8-1, and every victory for the Big Green was a 3-0 decision.
The Crimson is ranked No. 1 overall in the latest Dunlop Women's College Association Team Rankings. Harvard enters the year as the No. 1 team in the nation for the eighth consecutive season.
Harvard returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 11 as the Crimson host St. Lawrence at the Murr Center Squash Courts at 12 p.m.
