No. 1 Women’s Squash Remains Perfect with Win Over No. 6 Stanford, 9-0

Senior captain Dileas MacGowan moved to 11-0 this season with a win at No. 8 against the Cardinal (Gil Talbot).

– The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team collected its 11th-straight win, defeating No. 6 Stanford, 9-0, at the Murr Center Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson took down the Cardinal for the second time this season.

Harvard (11-0, 6-0 Ivy) kept its chance at a perfect season going, as it has one more regular season game against Yale tomorrow at 1 p.m., before gearing up for the CSA Team Championships on Feb. 24-26. The Crimson clinched at least a share of the Ivy League title with a 9-0 win over Brown yesterday, and it can wrap up the Ivy Championship outright with a victory over the Bulldogs.

The Crimson recorded eight sweeps in its matches against Stanford, taking the No. 1-8 positions by a 3-0 margin. Senior Keegan Mendez battled and held on for a tough 3-2 win at No. 9.

Sophomore Sabrina Sobhy picked up her sixth win of the season at No. 1, while freshman Gina Kennedy earned her fifth victory at No. 2.

Freshman Amelia Henley, junior Alyssa Mehta and senior Katherine Tutrone remained undefeated with wins at No. 3-5, respectively. Senior captain Dileas MacGowan also stayed unbeaten with a wins at No. 8.

Junior Sue Ann Yong rolled to her seventh win of the season and freshman Eleonore Evans recorded her 10th victory in her freshman campaign, as both notched sweeps in their respective matches.
