No. 1 Women’s Squash Sweeps No. 8 Columbia, 9-0

Sophomore Kayley Leonard tallied her fourth victory of the year as Harvard won its seventh-straight match (Gil Talbot).

– The No. 1 Harvard women's squash continued its dominant season with a 9-0 victory over No. 8 Columbia Saturday afternoon. The Crimson recorded a clean sweep over the Lions, marking the fourth time it has defeated its opponent 3-0 in all nine matches.

Harvard (7-0, 4-0 Ivy) won its seventh consecutive match of the season with the victory over Columbia (5-5, 1-3 Ivy). The Crimson has now won 30-straight matches dating back to the 2014-15 season.

Senior captains Caroline Monrad and Dileas MacGowan moved to 7-0 with wins at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, while fellow classmates Katherine Tutrone and Keegan Mendez also remained undefeated.

Freshman Gina Kennedy earned her third win of the season, including her first at No. 1, while freshman Amelia Henley won her fifth-straight match of the season. The other two members of the 2020 class, Annika Engstrom and Eleonore Evans, won their respective matches as well.

Sophomores Sophie Mehta and Kayley Leonard also remained unbeaten with wins over the Lions, with Mehta notching her seventh win of the season and Leonard earning her fourth.

Harvard women's squash will be back in action tomorrow against No. 7 Cornell at noon.
