No. 1 Women’s Squash Cruises at No. 5 Stanford, 9-0

Freshman Amelia Henley moved to 4-0 on the year with a clean sweep at No. 4 against No. 5 Stanford (Gil Talbot).

– No. 1 Harvard women's squash extended its win streak to five with a 9-0 victory at No. 5 Stanford on Thursday evening. The Crimson recorded seven sweeps out of the nine matches against the Cardinal.

Harvard (5-0, 3-0 Ivy) dominated from the start against Stanford (3-2), handing the Cardinal its first loss in its last four matches. The sweep marked the first for Harvard since opening the season with 9-0 wins over then-No. 9 Dartmouth and then-No. 14 Drexel.

Six different Crimson remained undefeated on the season, including freshman Amelia Henley. Henley moved to 4-0 and has wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions this season.

Seniors Kayley Leonard, Dileas MacGowan and Katherine Tutrone, along with junior Alyssa Mehta and sophomore Sophie Mehta, all recorded victories and remain unbeaten this year as well.  

Sophomore Sabrina Sobhy and freshman Gina Kennedy also took care of business, rolling to 3-0 victories at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Freshman Eleonore Evans notched a sweep at the No. 8 spot to round out the scoring for Harvard. 

The Crimson returns to the courts on Saturday, Jan. 21 when Tufts visits the Murr Center Squash Courts at 3:15 p.m.
