No. 1 Women’s Squash Upends No. 4 Princeton, 8-1

Senior captain Dileas MacGowan earned a 3-0 victory at No. 9 against No. 4 Princeton (Gil Talbot).

– The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team completed a three-match road trip with an 8-1 win over No. 4 Princeton Sunday afternoon. The Crimson rolled to wins over No. 14 Drexel and No. 2 Penn earlier this weekend.

Harvard (4-0, 3-0 Ivy) continued its hot start to the 2017 campaign with a dominant performance against Princeton (7-1, 1-1 Ivy). The Crimson won seven matches by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers.

Sophomores Sabrina Sobhy and Kayley Leonard set the tone for the Crimson, dominating the No. 1 and No. 2 spots with 3-0 wins. Sophomore Sophie Mehta followed suit with a three-game sweep at No. 7.

Juniors Alyssa Mehta and Sue Ann Yong turned in solid performances, with Mehta winning 3-0 at No. 4 and Yong taking home a 3-1 decision at No. 6.

Senior Katherine Tutrone moved to 3-0 on the year, defeating her opponent 3-0 at the No. 5 position. Senior captain Dileas MacGowan earned a sweep at No. 9, while freshman Amelia Henley picked up the 3-0 victory at No. 3 as well.

Harvard women's squash returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. PST with a road match at Stanford.
