CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – One of the most decorated players in program history, and a mainstay in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), Midge Purce '17 has been called up to the United States Women's National Team for friendlies against Sweden and Costa Rica Nov. 7 and 10.

The call up is Purce's third to the senior national team, though she is still looking for her first career appearance. Purce was a two-time All-American and a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy as a senior, and was honored as the Radcliffe Prize recipient in 2017 as Harvard's top female student-athlete. She joined a select group of two-time Ivy League Players of the Year, and was a four-time Ancient Eight first team honoree.

Purce was a first round draft choice of the Boston Breakers in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in 2017, and now plays for the Portland Thorns, where she ranked sixth in the league with eight goals last season.
