    My story as a Harvard basketball player begins way before I ever stepped foot on campus, took an SAT, or played in a high school basketball game. During my first week of high school, I wrote a letter to my future self, describing my goals for the next four years. While some of my aspirations were broad, my top goal was very specific: I dreamed of playing basketball at Harvard. In my eyes, the combination of academic and athletic excellence was truly unparalleled.

    Following a productive stint at the national team camp in January, sophomore Linda Liedel of the women’s soccer team has earned a selection to the Germany under-19 national team for the La Manga Tournament in Spain, running Feb. 26-March 6. Liedel is the only United States-based player to earn the call for Germany.

    Following a productive season along the back line for the Crimson, sophomore Linda Liedel of the women’s soccer team has earned an invitation to Germany’s under-19 national team training camp. The camp will run from Jan. 13-16 in Hennef, Germany.

    I distinctly remember the moment I told my parents about my first job at Harvard. I strategically started with statements like— “It’s such a great job because the hours are flexible and I essentially choose when I want to work.”, “I get paid more than I was getting paid in my job in high school.”, and “I can even listen to music while I work!” My parents were so excited for me and as you can imagine, followed up with the simple question “So what do you do?”.
