Purce and Casscells-Hamby were named to NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Region teams this season.
KANSAS CITY - Two members of the Harvard women's soccer team have earned NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Region honors, the NSCAA announced on Dec. 3. Sophomore Margaret Purce and senior co-captain Meg Casscells-Hamby were both named to Division I Women's All-Mid-Atlantic Region teams.
The regional laurels come after a 2014 campaign that saw the Crimson go 11-5-2, winning the Ivy League Championship before advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Purce, named to the First Team, was among the league leaders and headlined the Crimson attack. The First Team All-Ivy honoree marked 10 goals and added two assists for 22 points. Purce tallied four multi-goal games and six multi-point outings as a sophomore this season.
Casscells-Hamby, a Second Team honoree, had a stellar season along the midfield line. Earning First Team All-Ivy recognition, the Winter Park, Florida, native tallied three goals and handed out four assists for 10 points on the year. A crucial lynchpin in the midfield, Casscells-Hamby finishes her Crimson career with 15 goals and 15 assists over her four years in Cambridge.
