Weisman Lifts Women’s Soccer Over Brown in Non-Conference Match

Elizabeth Weisman registered her second game winner of the season.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior captain Elizabeth Weisman scored in the 99th minute to lead Harvard women's soccer over Brown Tuesday afternoon in nonleague action at Stevenson Field. 
The Crimson (10-3-2, 5-0) remains unbeaten over the last 12 games, dating back to Sept. 11.

The 12-match unbeaten streak marks the longest since 1999 (9/18-11/6, 13 games).

Weisman scored off a header from junior Erika Garcia. Crossing a pass into the box from the right side, Weisman redirected the ball into the back of the net to give the Crimson the 1-0 victory. 

For the game, Harvard outshot Brown (8-5-1, 3-1-1) by a 16-10 margin, including taking three shots in the extra period, while holding the Bears without a shot. The Crimson was also able to earn nine corner kick opportunities, limiting the Bears to three.  

Cheta Emba and Lizzie Durack split time in the net, totaling four saves to earn a combined shutout. 

Harvard looks to capture its 11th Ivy League title Saturday with a win against Dartmouth. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium.
