Women’s Rugby Bested by Dartmouth in Ivy Championship, 41-22

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- After a back and forth game, women's rugby fell to rival Dartmouth in the Ivy Championship, 41-22.

Dartmouth jumped out early with a penalty kick but Cassidy Bargell answered for the Crimson in the 27th minute with a try to give Harvard the lead 7-. At the end of the first half the game was closely contested with Dartmouth up 10-7.

Sofie Fella got Harvard rolling two minutes into the second half when she ripped the ball away from a Dartmouth player and broke free for a try. This put the Crimson on top 12-10.

After a try and conversion from Dartmouth, first-year Achele Agada powered through the Dartmouth defenders to tie the game at 17-17 in the 52nd minute.

A late try from Sarah Lipson in the 74th minute would be the final score on the day for Harvard who would fall 41-22.

Harvard Highlights

  • Cassidy Bargell and Sofie Fella each tabbed their sixth tryof the season and become tied for second on the team in tries.
  • Sarah Lipson added her second try of the season putting her total points scored at 10 for the year.
  • First-year Achele Agada touched down for her fourth try of the season to move her point total to 20 for the year.
