Women’s Rugby Comes Up Short Against Army West Point, 34-10

WEST POINT, N.Y.- Continuing its season on the road, the Crimson came up short, 34-10 at Army West Point. Harvard now moves to 1-1 on the year.

Things started off well for the Crimson who controlled the ball for the first 10 minutes and threatened to score. Army struck first with two tries as well as two penalty kicks to make the score 16-0.

Virginia Miller answered with her first try of the season to put Harvard on the board and make it 16-5. Harvard controlled the ball for a large part of the first half but went into the half trailing 21-5.

First-year Brogan Mior tallied her second try of the season in the 73rd minute to make the score 31-10.  Army added a late penalty kick in the 76th minute to make the final 34-10 despite multiple attacks by the Crimson that came up just short.

  • Harvard had the edge over Army West Point in time of possession in the opening 10 minutes attacking the try zone multiple times.

Harvard returns to Cambridge for its home opener against Dartmouth on Saturday, September 21. The game will kick off at 11 a.m. and be broadcast on ESPN+.
