Women's Rugby Receives Bid, Will Compete for Sevens National Title

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's rugby team has received an at-large bid to compete for the 2018 USA Rugby Women's 7s National Championship. This is the first time as a varsity program that the Crimson will compete at the USA Rugby Sevens National Championship. The women's side of the tournament kicks-off on Saturday, May 19 at Infinity Park in Glendale, Colo. The tournament will be broadcast on therugbychannel.tv.

Harvard went 16-6 this sevens season. The Crimson took second in four tournaments: Crimson 7s, Brown 7s, Ivy 7s, and the Polar Bear 7s. Harvard has outscored its opponents 555-234.

The Crimson's only other showing at a USA Rugby national tournament came as a 15s side in 2014 – the first year as a varsity program.
