Women's Rugby Tallies Six Academic All-Ivy Selections

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Continuing to add accolades after a strong fall season, Harvard women's rugby had six student-athletes selected as Academic All-Ivy honorees, as announced by the Ivy Rugby Conference: juniors Grace Chao and Akweley Okine and sophomores Brooklynn Davis, Sarah Lipson, Ana Suazo and Victoria Tong.

To qualify for the distinction, student-athletes had to appear in two Ivy Rugby Conference matches while maintaining a 3.7 GPA. The selections were made after a vote from the eight coaches in the conference, and the six players were part of a 33-student-athlete group that was recognized.

Chao scored this season against Princeton, while Okine touched down for tries against West Chester and Brown. Davis led the way at Brown with three tries, and Lipson scored twice during 15s action. Tong also totaled two tries, while Suazo's play lifted her teammates in scoring situations. Harvard women's rugby tallied a 4-3-1 mark during the fall slate, and advanced to the NIRA semifinals.
