No. 4 Women's Rugby Falls to No. 1 Dartmouth

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - On Saturday afternoon at Roberto A. Mignone field, the No. 4 women's rugby team was unable to force a comeback and fell to No. 1 Dartmouth, 39-10. Harvard is now 3-1-1 on the season. 

At the half, Dartmouth led Harvard, 17-0. A try from freshman Erin Wright gave the Crimson five points and another from classmate Milan Roberts, were the highlight's of Harvard's afternoon. 

"Dartmouth applied the necessary pressure to challenge our attack and decision making, which is what we wanted," said head coach Mel Denham. "There were moments of brilliance on the field, which we look forward to building on and there is plenty to improve on in the next couple of weeks. We are grateful to have such quality competition and hope to see Dartmouth again soon."

Harvard Highlights:

  • Freshman Erin Wright scored her first try for the Crimson.
  • Freshman Milan Roberts secured the second and final try for the Crimson on the afternoon, her eighth of the season. 

Game Notes:

  • Harvard is now 6-8 all-time against Dartmouth.

Harvard hosts Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. The game will be played at Roberto A. Mignone Field and will air on the Ivy League Network.
