CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior wrestler Walter Peppelman has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 1 Men's At-Large first team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Friday.
Peppelman will now advance to the men's at-large national ballot along with the first team honorees from the seven other districts. The 2013 CoSIDA-Capital One Academic All-America Division I Men's At-Large Teams will be announced on Thursday, June 6.
Peppelman has maintained a 3.71 GPA as a government concentrator in the Kennedy School of Government. He is a two-time NWCA All-Academic Team selection and a three-time Winter Academic All-Ivy pick.
The Harrisburg, Pa., native concluded his wrestling career in March by making his third straight appearance at the NCAA Championships. He qualified for the national tournament with a runner-up finish at the EIWA Championships and posted an overall record of 19-5, including an unblemished 13-0 mark in dual meets.
