The David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach of Harvard Wrestling Jay Weiss has again put together a challenging schedule that will prepare the Crimson for the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships and the NCAAs.
Harvard will compete in three tournaments, the Binghamton Open, the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and Midlands, and wrestle in 17 duals matches. The Crimson currently has five matches scheduled (Lone State Dual opponents have not been announced) against teams that finished in the top 30 at the 2009 NCAA Championships.
The Crimson opens the season Nov. 15 at Binghamton Open. The following weekend, Harvard travels back to Binghamton for the Journeyman/Brute Sprawl and Brawl where it will face Penn State, Northern Iowa and Sacred Heart. The team will close out the calendar year at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 4) and Midlands (Dec. 29-30).
Harvard dives into dual action at the beginning of January, taking on Rutgers (Jan. 8) and Franklin & Marshall (Jan. 8) in Newark, N.J., and Hofstra (Jan. 9) in Hempstead, N.Y. The team will travel to the Lone Star duals for three contests on Jan. 16. The Crimson's first home competition will take place Jan. 30 when local rival Boston University and Army visit the Malkin Athletic Center.
The Crimson opens its Ivy League campaign Feb. 6 against Penn and Princeton at home. EIWA foe Lehigh visits the MAC Feb. 12 and the following day Harvard travels to Brown. Harvard closes out its dual season on the road at Columbia (Feb. 19) and Cornell (Feb. 20).
