SPARKS, Md. – Harvard women's lacrosse assistant coach Kayla Treanor has been named to the 18-player U.S. Women's National Team that will compete in the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup, July 12-22 in Guildford, England. The announcement of the team was made by US Lacrosse and women's senior team head coach Ricky Fried this week.
Treanor was selected from a pool of 25 players that had been invited to the U.S. World Cup Training Team that most recently competed at the Team USA Spring Premiere at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The U.S. women defeated Florida and Notre Dame by a combined score of 42-24.
In addition to competing in the World Cup in England, the team will also take the field in the World Games in Wroclaw, Poland in July as well.
