No. 10/10 Women’s Hockey Drops 3-1 Decision to Boston College

BOSTON – The No. 10/10 Harvard women's hockey team (13-11-1, 12-5-1 ECAC Hockey) fell 3-1 to Boston College (15-12-3, 13-9-2 Hockey East) in the Beanpot consolation game on Tuesday night. Kristin Della Rovere scored the lone goal for the Crimson, her 17th of the season. 

In addition to her score, Kristin Della Rovere led the offense, putting seven of her nine shots on target while Nicki Lutschaunig blocked three shots on goal. In her fifth start this season, Beth Larcom totaled 22 saves. 

Boston College struck first on the power-play when Alexie Guay chipped the puck over Larcom's glove at 9:49 of the opening frame. The Eagles doubled their lead at 3:41 of the second, scoring from the left faceoff dot. Boston College made it 3-0 at 11:18 on a redirect from the point. Harvard responded at 11:24 of the third when Anne Bloomer and Kristin Della Rovere passed back and forth in the crease, allowing Della Rovere to deny the shutout.

  • Kristin Della Rovere scored her team-leading 17th goal of the season.
  • Harvard is now 7-5-1 all time in Beanpot consolation games.
  • The Crimson is now 17-10-0 all time against the Eagles in Beanpot contests.
