No. 10/RV Women’s Hockey Suffers 4-0 Loss at No. 7/7 Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The No. 10/RV Harvard women's hockey (11-8-1, 10-4-1 ECAC Hockey) suffered a 4-0 loss at No. 7/7 Clarkson (18-4-4, 9-3-2 ECAC Hockey) on Saturday afternoon at Cheel Arena in Potsdam. 

The offense was led by Brooke Jovanovich who put six of her shot attempts on net. Defensively, Lindsay Reed made 26 saves while Kristin Della Rovere, Cecilie Ehrhard and Kate Glover blocked two shots apiece. 

Clarkson opened scoring on a power-play strike 9:45 into the first period. Through the second, Harvard held off the Golden Knights but the hosts came out blazing in the third, taking a 3-0 lead less than five minutes into the period. Less than four minutes later Clarkson would seal the final score, finding the back of the net for the final time at 8:43. 

Game Notes

  • The teams were close to equal in shots on target, Harvard putting 29 pucks on goal to Clarkson's 30.
  • Each team won 28 faceoffs.
  • The Crimson moves to 18-16-5 all time against the Golden Knights.

Harvard will head back to the Bright-Landry Hockey Center for a standalone Friday night matchup next week against Dartmouth. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. on Jan. 31.
