COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Harvard women's hockey sophomore Dominique Petrie has been named to USA Hockey's Winter Training Camp roster as announced by the organization this week. Petrie is one of 46 players invited to the camp that will take place Dec. 9-13 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. From the pool of players, 23 will be selected to the U.S. Women's National Team that will face Canada in the first two games of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series on Dec. 14 and 17 in Hartford, Conn. And Moncton, New Brunswick respectively.
The winter camp roster includes 22 players who helped Team USA to golf at the 2019 IIHF Women's World Championships as well as three 2018 Olympic gold winners. Of the 46 athletes invited, 21 are active NCAA players and 25 are postgraduates.
Through six games this season, Petrie has recorded nine points which ranks second on the team. She's tallied at least a point in five of six contests including a four-point effort in the season opener at Dartmouth.
Harvard is set to host Community Day on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. versus New Hampshire. All Allston, Brighton and Cambridge residents will be eligible to purchase discounted $5 tickets while all kids will get FREE admission. Kids are encouraged to wear their youth team jerseys and to stay after the game for Skate with the Crimson. Fans can receive autographs from the players as well. Following Saturday's contest, the Crimson will head to Nashville, Tenn. to participate in the inaugural Country Classic. Harvard will take on No. 1/1 Minnesota and No. 2/2 Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday at the Nashville Predators' Ford Ice Center.
