ALBANY, N.Y. – Becca Gilmore has been tabbed ECAC Hockey's Player of the week after a four-point weekend that contributed to Harvard's sweep of Brown and Yale. This is Harvard's first weekly honor this season and Gilmore's third weekly honor of her career.
On Friday, Gilmore put up her first two points of the season. The center notched assists on both of linemate Anne Bloomer's goals that helped lift the Crimson over Brown 4-1. The Wayland, Mass. Native upped the ante on Saturday against Yale, tying her career high of two goals. She first put Harvard up 2-0 in the opening minute of the second period then sealed the 5-2 final score with a highlight reel power-play tally midway through the third.
Gilmore's four points rank tied for third on the team and ranks top-30 in the nation in points per game and goals per game. Her scores also helped Harvard earn the top rank in the NCAA for scoring offense and the No. 2 mark in power play conversion rate.
Gilmore and the Crimson return to action this weekend at Princeton and Quinnipiac. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday respectively.
