CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – First-year Lindsay Reed recorded her first career shutout as Harvard women's hockey (3-5-1, 2-3-1 ECAC) defeated Rensselaer (4-8-4, 2-3-0 ECAC) 2-0 on Friday afternoon at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Kristin Della Rovere and Becca Gilmore tallied goals for the Crimson while Reed posted 26 saves in net.

Kristin Della Rovere scored her sixth and seventh point in four games and her second game-winning goal of the season, securing the win for the Crimson.

Just 12:28 into the opening period, Della Rovere gave Harvard what it needed to take two coveted ECAC points from the Engineers. Kat Hughes initiated the play wrapping behind the net and feeding the puck to Lexie Laing in the slot. Laing fired a shot that bounced off Selander's pads where Della Rovere banged home the rebound.

Late in the third, Becca Gilmore added a short-handed insurance goal when she and Della Rovere went two-on-one to double the Crimson's lead.
