ALBANY, N.Y. – First-year Lindsay Reed has been named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference today (Oct. 29). Over the weekend, Reed totaled 49 saves in just her second career appearance against No. 9/9 Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y.
Reed's 49 saves mark a new career high for the rookie and ranks fifth all-time in single game saves at Harvard. The New Vernon, N.J. native held the No. 9/9 Colgate squad to just one goal and denied all four of the Raiders' power play opportunities. Over the weekend, Reed ranked second in the country and first in the ECAC in saves per game. She also totaled more saves in one game than three other ECAC goalies accumulated across two games.
With Saturday's performance, Reed now leads all Division I players with a .974 save percentage. On the season, Reed now ranks fifth in Division I, first among rookies, and second in the ECAC in goals against average (1.01).
