CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following a four-year career donning the Crimson uniform, defender Chelsea Ziadie has signed a contract with the Metropolitan Riveters of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Ziadie becomes the third former Harvard athlete on the 2018-19 Riveters' roster, joining teammates Miye D'Oench and Michelle Picard.
A four-year letterwinner, Ziadie played in 102 contests, tallying 16 points on seven goals and nine assists. The Pointe-Claire, Quebec native garnered three ECAC All-Academic Team selections during her career, while also being named the 2015-16 Joe Bertagna Most Improved Player and the 2017-18 Team Most Valuable Player. Ziadie graduated from Harvard this past May with a degree in sociology and economics and currently holds a position at Morgan Stanley in New York.
Ziadie joins an already elite group of former Crimson skaters competing in the professional ranks, as she is now the 12th former Harvard skater to play in the league which enters its fourth season in 2018-19. The Metropolitan Riveters enter the year coming off a historical 2017-18 season that saw the squad post a 13-3 record and win the Isobel Cup Final.
