Emma Buckles and Becca Gilmore Earn ECAC All-Rookie Team Recognition

ALBANY, N.Y. – Freshmen Emma Buckles and Becca Gilmore were named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team as announced by the conference today.

Becca Gilmore led the Crimson in goals, assists and points, compiling a stat line of 16-19-35 for her rookie season. The forward's 35 points are the most from a Crimson freshman since the 2004-05 season and she is the first Crimson skater to crack the 30-point threshold since the 2015-16 season.

During the 2017-18 campaign, Gilmore also led the Crimson with 12 multi-point outings, five of which came in the last seven games of the season. Of the 12 total, she scored three points or more four times and scored two goals or more six times. In her final multi-point outing of the regular season, Gilmore secured both goals for the Crimson in a 2-1 defeat of No. 8/8 St. Lawrence, Harvard's first win over a ranked opponent since February 2016. Three of Gilmore's 16 tallies proved to be game-winners, which ranks second on the team.

She ranks 18th in points per game (1.13) among all Division I players and seventh in the ECAC. Gilmore ranks fourth among DI freshman and second among ECAC freshmen in the same category. Overall, Gilmore's 35 points slot her ninth in the conference and second among ECAC freshmen. Counting only regular season conference games, Gilmore ranked sixth overall in scoring with 10 goals and 15 assists.

Emma Buckles collected 13 points in her freshman campaign, with 10 of those points and all three of her goals coming in conference action. She tallied points in five of the final eight games and recorded a career high three-points in a 6-1 win over Brown on Jan. 27. She led the team in blocked shots with 49 and appeared in 30 of 31 games this season. Her first collegiate goal came against No. 6/6 Cornell at Lynah Rink in January.
