ALBANY, N.Y. – Becca Gilmore was named ECAC Rookie of the Month for the month of February, as announced by the conference today. This is the first monthly honor of Gilmore's career after earning Rookie of the Week twice during the 2017-18 season.
Gilmore recorded 15 of her 35 total points during the month of February, averaging 1.50 points per game. Of the 10 games the Crimson played, Gilmore put up multi-point outings in five, with four being multi-goal efforts. She scored nine goals on 36 shots, for a 25 percent shot conversion rate. The rookie also potted back-to-back game winning goals against Northeastern and No. 8/8 St. Lawrence. The Wayland, Mass. native scored both Harvard goals against the Saints in Canton, giving the Crimson its first win over a ranked opponent since the 2016 ECAC quarterfinals.
Gilmore finished her rookie campaign with 35 career points, the most for a freshman since the 2004-05 season. She led the team in points, goals (16) and assists (19).
During the regular season, Gilmore ranked 17th in points per game (1.10) among all Division I players and sixth in the ECAC. She was slotted fourth among DI freshman and second among ECAC freshmen in the same category. Overall, her 32 regular season points put her ninth in the conference and second among ECAC freshmen. Counting only conference play, Gilmore ranked sixth overall in scoring with 10 goals and 15 assists against ECAC opponents.
