Women’s Hockey Lands 17 On ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team

Frazer was named to the Commissioner's list as Harvard's top scholar (Gil Talbot).

ALBANY, N.Y. – Coupled with its success on the ice, Harvard women's hockey also saw tremendous success in the classroom. The Crimson had 17 skaters selected to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic team, led by junior Abbey Frazer, who was named to the Commissioner's List.

Frazer was honored on the Commissioner's List as the team's top scholar for the 2015-16 campaign. A defenseman, Frazer tallied three assists from the blue line, and helped Harvard to the seventh-best scoring defense in the country. The Hudson, Quebec native has three goals and 12 assists in her career, and she earned All-Academic honors for the third-consecutive season.

Joining Frazer on the All-Academic team are seniors Miye D'Oench, Jessica Harvey, Emerance Maschmeyer, Mary Parker and Michelle Picard; juniors Sydney Daniels, Brianna Laing and Briana Mastel; sophomores Nikki Friesen, Karly Heffernan, Dani Krzyszczyk, Lexie Laing and Chelsea Ziadie; and freshmen Bradley Fusco and Kate Hallett. 11 of Harvard's selections have earned the award in multiple seasons.

The student-athletes qualified for the honor by maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher over the past three semesters. Harvard was one of six schools to have 17 or more student-athletes named to the list, and 193 total skaters were recognized.

Harvard finished the season at 17-12-3 overall, including a 12-7-3 mark in ECAC Hockey action, with five Crimson skaters earning all-conference honors.
