Picard Selected by Team USA for IIHF Women’s World Championship

Picard is one of 13 members chosen for the team that also skated at the 2014 Olympics (Gil Talbot).

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior captain Michelle Picard has been named to the United States national team roster that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championships, announced by USA Hockey on Wednesday. The event will take place March 28-April 4 in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Picard is no stranger to international competition, as she was selected to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia, where the United States earned silver medals. The 2016 tournament will be Picard's fourth IIHF World Championships, where the blue-liner has won two gold medals and one silver. Picard has 18 assists in her international career, including two at the 2015 World Champinships.

Picard and Team USA were drawn in group A with Canada, Russia and Finland, and will open against host Canada on March 28 at the Sandman Centre.
