ALBANY, N.Y. – Freshman forward Grace Zarzecki of the Harvard women's hockey team has been named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
A first-year skater from Chicago, Zarzecki tallied two goals and three points on the weekend to help lead Harvard to victories over Yale and Brown. In the first of a two-game road trip, Zarzecki slotted a pair of goals past the Bulldogs' goaltender, including the eventual game-winner. Against the Bears, Zarzecki slapped the puck off the boards to Lexie Laing, who potted the game-winning goal of a 5-1 victory. The award is the first of Zarzecki's career.
Harvard women's hockey is 3-1-1 on the season and plays host to Union and Rensselaer in a pair of ECAC clashes at the Bright Landry Hockey Center Nov. 13-14. Dropping puck at 7 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, both contests will be broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.
