CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sarah Vaillancourt '08-09, a former star for the Harvard women's hockey team, has been named one of three members of the Women's Beanpot Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Vaillancourt will be joined by Alison Quandt, a 2006 graduate of Boston College and Brooke Whitney, a 2003 graduate of Northeastern.
The trio will be honored Feb. 3 between the first two games of the 37th Annual Women's Beanpot Tournament. This year's Beanpot has a chance to be one of the best in the history of the event as three of the four teams are ranked in the top seven. No. 1Boston College and Northeastern will open the tournament with the 5 p.m. game Feb. 3 and will be followed by No. 4-ranked and Tournament host Harvard taking on No. 7 Boston University.
Vailliancourt, a two-time Olympian and the 2008 Patty Kazmaier Award winner, helped guide the Crimson to two Beanpot championships from 2004-08. She recorded seven goals and 12 assists during Beanpot contests ranks seventh all-time on the Crimson's scoring charts with 237 points during four seasons in Cambridge.
