CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Jillian Dempsey of the Harvard women's ice hockey team was announced as one of six forwards to the New England All-Star Team. Dempsey, a senior co-captain, had her best season in Cambridge this past year to earn a spot on the team for the first time in her career.
Dempsey led Harvard with 24 goals and 21 assists for 45 points, while also earning a team-high rating of +38. She is ranked No. 12 in the country in goals per game (0.71) and tied for 16th in points per contest (1.32) thanks to her explosive play this season. The Winthrop, Mass., native scored in each of the Crimson's first 16 games to produce a 30-game point streak dating back to 2011-12, the longest run in the nation at the time. Her consistent effort led Harvard to a No. 2 ranking earlier in 2012-13, its highest spot in the polls since 2008, the 2013 Ivy League championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament.
